The Spa of Castello di Vicarello, a privately-owned and secluded retreat, is an invitation to take time out, relax and regenerate oneself.
The treatment is not only in the gentle and age-old techniques of ayurvedic medicine, but in the suggestive beauty of the uncontaminated natural surroundings and slow pace of life.
Appearing to almost float above the adjoining field beside the Infinity pool, The Spa is constructed entirely in wood and glass and is a refined example of modern architecture, an elegant structure developed on spacious terracing, enjoying a breathtaking panorama.
The use of only the finest natural and eco-friendly materials, low energy-consumption, a profound respect for the environment and surrounding countryside, these are the tenets of Castello di Vicarello’s philosophical outlook and reach their full expression in this private and secluded retreat.
The spa itself offers a range of massages from the stimulating and invigorating to the depurative and relaxing, plantar reflexology and shiatsu as well as a Relaxation room, Hot tub, Sauna and Steam room,
Treatment cycles vary from a couple of days to two weeks and use only hand crafted massage oils and pure essences.
The warmth of cedar wood, the naturalness of stone pebbles, as well as the elegance of precious resins chosen for flooring compliment the magical ambience that pervades Castello di Vicarello.

Yoga Retreats
Castello di Vicarello, a 12th century castle in the Maremma region of Tuscany, is a property deeply rooted in both history and nature. Set amongst century old olive groves, surrounded by vineyards and gardens, the location offers a perfect retreat for a person to unwind. We pride ourselves on organic measures. Food is based on local and seasonal products, most vegetables and herbs are from our own organic vegetable garden, and our two swimming pools are chlorine-free. For a retreat there are many gardens and open spaces for yoga and other outdoor activities– all garden locations offer incredible views of the Tuscan hills.
Yoga teachers are very welcome with their own groups. We are open all year round, and each season offers its own special charm.. A special menu can be prepared, depending on the season and desires. We can arrange a full board or half board cost per person, not including drinks.
Cooking classes and wine tasting can be arranged in the hotel’s kitchen, and horse riding, hunting and fishing can all be enjoyed in the nearby area.
